Rain Down

By Satya Benson

Rain down
I’m shivering to the bone
Drenched, and standing alone
Rain down on me
Let it rain
My warmth will flow out from my blood
My consciousness will fade from my brain
The water and cold air will turn my flesh blue
And my shaking will stop
You will rain down on me
And the cold will burn me like a flame
The fires will rage and my skin will turn red and black
My breath will be shallow and filled with smoke and rainwater
My fingernails will crack
But I will feel no pain
Rain down
I’m shivering

--

Rain down
My heart is pounding in my ears
I’m drenched and standing alone
Rain down on me
Let it rain
I will open my mouth and taste the salty drops
My coursing blood will turn the water to steam
My consciousness will become invisible as I feel
Every pounding drop which lands on me and every pain and every tightening
And my shaking will stop
You will rain down on me
And your warmth will melt me like wax in a flame
The fires will rage and my skin will turn raw and red
My breath will be soft and fading away
My fingernails will bite my palms
And I will feel pain
Rain down
My heart is pounding
